Lisa Fiore, Ph.D. is a Professor of Early Childhood Education and Director of the Child Homelessness Initiative at Lesley University. Lisa received her B.A. from Brandeis University, an M.A.T. from Tufts University; and her doctorate from Boston College. Lisa's work has focused on the use of documentation to extend and enhance individual and group learning; making assessment meaningful and relevant for teachers and young children through the use of alternative strategies and materials; and social-emotional learning and development. Lisa has published in educational journals, and written and edited several textbooks on Early Childhood Education. Recent books include Assessment of Young Children: A Collaborative Approach (Routledge) and the upcoming Your Child’s Social and Emotional Wellbeing (Wiley). She co- presented at MAEA with Mary Geisser on the use of open-ended materials in ECE.
